Physical Wellbeing

Despite the well-established benefits of physical activity and sports participation, millions of young people are spending excessive time engaging in sedentary behaviours, and we’re witnessing a decline in participation in all major sports worldwide.

The downward trend in participation has led to dramatic increases in childhood diabetes, asthma, and obesity – disorders that can create lifetime risks for cardiovascular disease, stroke, and some cancers.

Countless studies prove that direct participation in sport is one of the most powerful means of motivating and mobilizing kids to become physically active. Regular exercise through sport prevents obesity, promotes cardiovascular health and decreases the risk of heart disease and other health disorders later in life.
